ABR–ACB–CAF Project 2022–27
The need to intervene in anti-Black racism (ABR) within the Canadian health system has been a cry of many members of the African, Caribbean and Black (ACB) population. To this end, the ACB umbrella body — the Canadian HIV/AIDS Black, African and Caribbean (CHABAC) Network — responds with this project. Working through four hubs across Canada, of which CCGS is a part, this project seeks to help healthcare professionals improve service delivery in the areas of HIV, Hepatitis C, and any other STBBI diseases within the ACB population.

The Canadian Center for Global Studies Corporation (CCGS), one of the partner organizations under the CHABAC National Project, conveys its profound gratitude to the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) for funding the African Caribbean and Black (ACB) Anti-Black Racism (ABR) service delivery improvement project through the HIV and Hepatitis C Community Action Fund (CAF).
Manitoba Hub · Launched December 2025
Youth Education and Empowerment in SRH
In December 2025, a youth-focused project was flagged off and officially launched shortly after. Since then, a great deal has taken place — sessions with youth coordinators, ACB youths, ACB healthcare providers, and ACB youth leaders in the community.
Under the overarching coordination of the national CHABAC office in Toronto, the Canadian Center for Global Studies serves as the Manitoba Hub — mobilizing African, Caribbean and Black (ACB) youths and young adults, and delivering life-changing workshops and seminars to empower the ACB youth in particular, and the wider ACB population, on Anti-Black Racism (ABR) and Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH). The work is supported by the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC).

Community Health
Sexual and Reproductive Health of ACB People
Through a series of conversation cafés and community dialogue, CCGS creates safe, welcoming spaces for the African, Caribbean and Black community to discuss sexual and reproductive health openly and without stigma.
These gatherings bring neighbours together for honest conversation — supporting informed choices, healthy relationships, and access to care.
